About the Role

Reporting to our LVN owner/supervisor, caregivers provide compassionate non-medical caregiving services to clients — including companionship, personal care, assistance with daily living activities (ADLs), and light housekeeping. Hours vary based on agency need and your availability.

Responsibilities

• Review client care plans and provide assistance as directed.
• Document care provided via progress notes after each visit.
• Provide companionship and supervision for clients with disabilities, illnesses, and cognitive conditions.
• Assist with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Support with toileting and incontinence care as needed.
• Assist with transfers (bed to chair) and walking/ambulation.
• Lead engaging social and stimulating activities appropriate to client needs.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
• Provide medication reminders as indicated in the care plan.
• Accompany and transport clients to appointments and errands when approved.
• Perform light housekeeping: vacuuming, dishes, laundry, light cleaning, making beds.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in in-home care or a care facility setting.
• Ability to assist with ADLs including incontinence care.
• Experience with Alzheimer's or cognitive impairment (highly desired).
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs unassisted.
• Must pass a background check.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written care plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Valid California driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
• Professional representation of Devoted Caregivers to clients and the community.
